Crystal Waters

I have visited this beautiful lake many times over the years. The best time to hike and see your prize is in summer time when the sunlight hits the water in a way to make it look like a tropical oasis. On this specific day I decided to join two others on the hike up to Lindeman Lake. This was a real treat for me as with the pandemic of course we had been limiting the amount of people that we came into contact with. Being outdoors seemed like the perfect place to join others and try to forget of the situation our world was in. The day was very hot so it was so tempting to go for a swim. This would be the second time the third time that I decided to go into the water in the 19 years of living nearby. I set my foot into the water and immediately the icy lake made itself known. Maybe that is why it is so crystal clear, because a person can only endure being in the water for so long. I lasted a few seconds and went back out. I tried again and again until I got my body in the water and endured for only a short while. That was enough icy water for me so I dried myself and dressed to have a snack by the edge of the lake. What I didn’t mention yet was that we have gone deeper into the bush to keep away from others as it was busier than normal on this beautiful hot day. The beauty of this lake was again protected by nature as big horseflies (at least that’s what I think they were) starting attacking us and we ran back to the main trail. I don’t mind as it keeps us humans from lingering too much in these gorgeous natural worlds.
