Framed by nature! Peering through these towering trees gentle shades of blue greet us from sky to earth.

The planet earth is a unique beauty in the vast universe. It radiates gorgeous shades of blues when seen from space. Our planet has a vast ocean that reflects the blue sky. The Oceans contain about 97 percent of the earth’s water. There are also many rivers and lakes. This liquid is beautiful to look at and it makes life possible for humans, animals and plant life. In fact we are mostly water! Without water we would only last a week. Certainly it is a resource that is vital, we enjoy looking at it and we must protect it.

Looking at this photo the water, mountains and sky work harmoniously together to complement each other. Why do the distant mountains look blue? This is due to the way that light scatters in the atmosphere. The further away the mountains and land is the more blue they seem to be. This is called Rayleigh scattering. I love the way it looks as it feels calming and dreamlike.

Taking all these things into consideration are important to me in planning my Serene Azul Collection. Azul means blue in Spanish. I want to bring these wonderful shades together to mimic what nature already does.

Serene Azul Collection Planning

I went to different locations to do some research and inspiration for my next collection. I took some photo references and worked on some art studies. I like to include what I felt at each location and also what I heard. I write down the words that come to mind. I want my experiences to shine through my artwork.
